What makes him a prospect?
Swain has had an impressive send season with the 87s, and has shown he can be to go to man in front of the net. With a strong understanding of the game, the Jackson New Jersey native constantly beats defenders to open ice, and gets open for quick one timers. He dominates from the top of the circles to the goal line, and can score with his shot or by outmuscling defenders.
Areas To Improve On
Only area Swain needs to continue to develop is his skating, especially lateraly. At top flight, Swain relies on his positioning and strength to keep defenders off the puck, but is sometimes caught from behind. Adding another gear will allow Swain to get open at the next level, and let his natural goal scoring abilities do the rest.
Overall
At the collegiate level, Swain will be able to fill multiple spots in the lineup. Because he can score with his shot, or by finding rebounds, Swain will be a multi threat on the powerplay, and can add scoring depth to any line. Committed to Wilkes University (NCAA D3), Wilkes will look to continue his development, as Wilkes looks like they found a great goal scorer for years to come.
