Giacomo Martino ‘05 Forward
Sioux City Musketeers (USHL)
Martino has already hit his goal production from last year in just 12 games, tied for the most goals in the USHLand 2nd in points with 8G 9A. The Northeastern commit extended his point streak to 5 games last week, with 3G 2A in his last 2 games. Strong on skates and hardworking to keep pace, Martino has showed off his scorers touch and instincts, with smart positioning in and around the net, and a quick release.
Leonid Bulgakov - ‘04 Forward
Aberdeen Wings (NAHL)
The Augustana commit was determined to get back on the point sheet after his 4 game point streak was broken last weekend, netting 1G 3A this past weekend. The slightly undersized lefty is an aggressive skater, quick feet and willing to attack the net while on the puck, scoring Friday night crashing the crease with quick hands to get far side. His aggressive, hardworking nature gets him into right spots, never afraid of contact. He enters this weekend with 10G 7A in just 13 games.
Luke Schelter ‘04 Forward
Fargo Force (USHL)
College coaches will be keeping a close eye on Schelter, who joined Fargo in late October after spending the past 3 seasons in the WHL with Portland and Kelowna. The 6’2” righty has 4G 4A in just 6 games, currently on a 4-game heater with 2G 4 assists. With the new rule change in the NCAA, Schelter will be eligible to play next season.
Taisetsu Ushio - ‘05 Forward
Anchorage Wolverines (NAHL)
Ushio entered last weekend with 4 goals on the season, and added 3 more over 2 games vs Chippewa to improve to 7G 8A in 15 games. Scored a laser of a shot 1 on 1, scoring from decent distance Saturday to give Anchorage a 2 goal cushion. The undersized wing is coming off around a point per game season last year, and will continue his hockey career next year, committed to Alaska Fairbanks.
#4 František Netusil - ‘07 Forward
Minnesota Wilderness (NAHL)
Held pointless in just 3 of 16 games, Netusil continued to impress with a hat trick Friday night vs Kenai River. So versatile in his attacks, quick thinking and cerebral on the puck, with a shooters mentality and touch. The Western Michigan commit leads the Wilderness and entire NAHLin goals with 14, many of his 9 powerplay goals coming from a lethal 1-T that can beat goaltenders from long range.
#12 Ben Constantino - ‘05 Defenseman
Elmira Aviators (NAHL)
The big 6’4” lefty has been making it look easy from his offensive blue line, adding 2G 1A in last Friday’s matchup with Maryland. Constantino has a quick, effortless release, an ability to beat goaltenders from distance with his wrist shot. The Elmira assistant captain is now at 8G 8A through 17 games, his 1st season in the NAHL after spending last year in the SJHL with Humboldt, tallying 15G 32A in 62 games.
Zach Ferris - ‘05 Goaltender
Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL)
Ferris extended his win streak to 6 straight last weekend with 2 wins over Northeast, stopping 87 of 91. A quick, reactionary goaltender with great technique to fall back on, the Tomahawks starter has had to battle for his wins along this streak, seeing 40+ shots in his last 3, 2 of which were 50+.
Adam Lendak ‘06 Goaltender
Fargo Force (USHL)
The Slovakia native is 4-0 in his last 4 starts, a steady 20 save shutout in his last start, his 1st of the season. Lendak’s flexibility and quickness both on his skates and pads is impressive. Extremely smooth and controlled. Currently boasts a 6-2-1 record, 2.29 GAA and .909 save % in 10 appearances.
