Our 2nd rankings of the season, showcasing the top teams from the EHL, NA3HL, and USPHL Premier.
1 - New Hampshire Avalanche EHL
Previous #1 - 32-3-0-4
New Hampshire has begun to run away with the North Division of the EHL, now 12 points ahead of 2nd place New England. Despite the loss vs Express Hockey Club in January, the 2nd best team in the EHL, the Avs play since then has been tough to match on this run, remaining perfect through February with 6 straight wins.
The goaltending tandem of ‘04 Will Seagrave and ‘04 Alex Gerard has been top of the league as well, with Seagrave 2nd in GAA and 5th in save %, and Gerard 4th / 6th. Surprisingly, neither of their goaltenders are amongst the league leading 9 NCAA D3 commitments on their roster, 3 to Western New England University. Watch if the Avs can continue their momentum in March, as they will face both New England and Express HC again before closing out the regular season.
2 - Helena Bighorns NA3HL
Previous #3 - 37-3-1-1
The Bighorns entered the Top Prospects Showcase break on a 12-game winning streak, and continued their winning ways last night with another dominant win over Bozeman 7-1 to extend to 13. Since starting 2025 with a 1-1 split vs Badlands, Helena has taken care of business against the lower half of the Frontier Division, with their next matchup against #2 Sheridan coming at the end of the month on the road.
After losing the firepower of the Cunningham brothers, Gavin Barr and Patrick Crooks from last years team, Helena has done it by committee offensively this season but, like last year, has picked up a top producer in the league heading into the playoffs. Marcus Fritel joined Helena from Mason City and has made an immediate impact, 4G 3A in his 4 games with Helena in February, now the team leader in points (64) and goals (30) over 38 total games.
3 - Louisiana Drillers NA3HL
Previous #4 - 36-1-3-1
The Drillers look to have taken the South Division after taking 2 games of the 3-game series vs #2 New Mexico in January, and lead the Ice Wolves by 4 points with 6 games to go and 3 less games played. One of the best offenses in the NA3, Louisiana has had multiple double-digit scores since the new year, and have 4 players over a point per game, led by ‘04 Jake Bergstrom (40 GP 23G 36A), ‘04 Skylar Bawcom (38GP 32G 26A) and one of the top offensive defensemen ‘05 Johnathon Berndt (41GP 12G 45A).
Closing out their regular season won’t be easy, with 3 games vs Texas RoadRunners before finishing the season with a 3 game series vs Texas Brahmas, currently sitting in 3rd and 10 points back of the Drillers.
4 - Express Hockey Club EHL
Previous #2 - 31-3-3-3
Express Hockey Club remains on top of the East Division for now as East Coast has crept back into the hunt for 1st, now just 4 games back. They got the key head-to-head win over New Hampshire on January 28th 3-2, but have gone 5-3 in their last 8, taking just 11 of 17 games in 2025. Despite currently tied for most points in the EHL with New Hampshire, their form in 2025 has not been as consistent as they would have liked.
With just 6 games left in the regular season and no head-to-head matchups with East Coast, Express HC will look to take care of business to finish off the season on top of the East, but 2 key games to look out for: 2/26 vs New England and their final game of the season, 3/10 vs #1 New Hampshire. Special teams have been a key for Express HC, entering the weekend with the 2nd most effective powerplay at 23.7%, and top PK with 92%.
5 - New England Wolves EHL
Previous #5 - 28-11-0-0
New England was poised for a top 3 jump after opening 2025 with a 7-1 record, including key wins over Express HC and New Hampshire, but have taken a bit of a tumble as of late, going 2-4 in their last 6 games. Their head-to-head loss to New Hampshire and 2 losses to East Coast in February have made their run at the top spot of the North Division look to be over.
‘06 Harrison Kramer is one of the top younger prospects in the EHL this season, and leads the Wolves still in goal scoring with 27G, and is tied in points to ‘05 Brenden Fields with 43 pts. Both are over a point per game this season and will be prospects to watch in the playoffs / next season as uncommitted prospects for NCAA hockey.
Outside Looking In
East Coast Wizards EHL
East Coast is on an 8-game heater, including wins over New Hampshire and 3-0 in last 3 vs 2nd place New England. Watch as they push Express HC for 2nd in the East, just 6 points out entering the weekend. Daxton St. Hillaire leads the EHL in goal scoring with 29G in 40 games, a Roger Williams commit along with brother Cooper.
Islanders Hockey Club USPHL Premier
Led by Saint Anselm commit Dylan Reynolds, have gone 9-0-1 in last 10 games and have clinched the New England Division in the USPHL Premier. Reynolds has been a top producer at the Premier level and has 3G 2A in 12 NCDC games this season.
Binghamton Buzz NA3HL
You can’t ignore a team that has rolled off 14 straight, now leading East division by 10 points. ‘05 Ethan Miller has led the way with 29G 30A in 37 games, but ‘05 Carson Curry is a prospect to watch. After starting in the GOJHL, Curry has 42 points (18G 24A), good enough for 3rd on the Buzz, in just 29 games.
Sheridan Hawks NA3HL
2nd place in a tough Frontier Division, Sheridan has some high-end talent already committed to NCAA D3 for next season. Fredonia State commit Josh Serino leads the NA3 in goals with 38G, and is tied for the points lead with 78 over 42 games.
