U18 Prep - Ranking - #2 (USA)
Scott Morrow - #23 ‘02 Defenseman
The 6’2” defenseman moves effortlessly in all three zones. With the puck, Morrow constantly has his head up reading the play and can make multiple guys miss as he processes. His passing ability in all 3 zones is elite, showcasing great vision and hard passes. Utilizing a wide stance and active stick, Morrow is tough to beat on a rush, and transitions from defense to offense in a hurry. The B rated 2021 draft eligible prospect will need to continue to develop his decision making, but has become a calm, smooth skating defenseman with a lot to like.
Shai Buium - #2 ‘03 Defenseman
The San Diego native is a large frame defenseman who can move the puck with both passing and skating ability. Buium handles pressure extremely well, and can skate his way into open space to make a play. There is some polishing to do on his offensive game on the rush, especially finishing plays with a shot on goal. The C rated 2021 draft eligible defenseman can skate extremely well in all directions, and makes crisp passes in both breakouts and offensive situations.
William Whitelaw - #13 ‘05 Forward
The youngest player on the SSM Prep team has good speed and can breakdown defesemen on the rush with ease. He utilizes slippery, in stride puck moves to push pucks around defenseman and get into open space. Whitelaw understands the game at speed, and uses his passing abilities to create chances.
David Schoeneman - #5 ‘02 Defenseman
The Owatonna native is a physical defender, who closes space quickly and makes smart positional decisions in the defensive zone. With the puck, his feet are moving immediately, and evaluates passing options quickly.
Ethan Begg - #18 ‘03 Forward
Has great situational awareness, especially in odd man rushes and in the offensive zone. Begg understands how to get into passing lanes, and the use of body position when racing to a back door opportunity. The Colorado native is a player every coach would enjoy, as he is just as hardworking in the defensively as he is offensively, and plays with a physical, pesky side.
Kiron Morioka - #1 ‘02 Goaltender
Compact, close hands stance goaltender with a calm presence in the crease. Strong head and body movements, remains under control when tracking plays. Skating is efficient, in both crease movements and post positions. During scrambles, Morioka can get post to post quickly, but will need to improve his control while sliding or during scrambles in front of the net.
David Tolan - #19 ‘03 Forward
The dual threat forward can snipe or dish the puck, especially in odd man situations or off of turnovers. Has an ability to have a plan as the play changes in front of him, and can pick corners with a quick release, extremely accurate wrist shot.
Arvega Hovsepyan - #16 ‘03 Forward
Offensively talented forward who can break down attacking situations quickly, and make the right play. Is patient with the puck, especially coming off the half wall or corner battles. Hovsepyan's best attribute is his ability to create time and space while attacking the net, using his deceptive puck skills and body fakes.
Dana Wallace - #8 ‘03 Forward
Entering his third season at Shattuck, Wallace is a offensively gifted power forward, who uses his big frame to shield off defenders, and gets to the right areas of the ice to create chances. Wallace has a hard, sweeping wrist shot, and an under rated passing ability.
Charlie Lurie - #21 ‘03 Forward
200ft center who plays in all situations. On the defensive side of the puck, he is in constant support during board battles, and is looking to get the play moving up ice. Offensively, the Minnetonkaa native does great job getting open in the neutral zone and attacking the blue line. Lurie plays with a simple, effective approach, wants the puck on his stick and to facilitate offense.
Samuel Harris - #14 ‘03 Forward
Positionally sound forward who supports pucks well offensively, and creates plays well below the goal line. The San Diego native works well with linemates, and can brings a physicality component to any line he is on.
Colby Browne - #22 ‘03 Forward
Winger who plays with a lot of pace. Works extremely hard in the offensive zone, either in battles or finding soft spots in front for shot and tip options. Browne is still growing into his game, and should become more dynamic as he adds power to his stride.

Ryan Comishock - #18 ‘04 Forward
Quick step forward who plays at constant pace with and without the puck. In the offensive zone, Comishock is on the hunt for pucks, ready to begin an attack.
Patrick Czarnecki - #10 ‘04 Defenseman
Poised under pressure, especially on dumped pucks. Czarnecki does a great job scanning whats behind him, and choosing the safest option
Ty Henricks - #20 ‘05 Forward
6’3” forward with an understanding of how to use his body to create chances. Henricks showed a quick release when receiving passes, with his head always up. Common for young taller forwards, tight turn acceleration and balance will be areas for the talented forward to look to improve on.
Gracyn Sawchyn - #4 ‘05 Forward
While operating at speed, Sawchyn is calm with the puck, ready to distribute or shoot. His hands and brain operate at speed, as he finds himself able to weave through defenses on both rushes and in zone plays. He is responsible in the defensive zone during scrums, and wants to facilitate the breakout. The 2020 Red Deer first overall pick is currently over a point per game, with 37 points in 26 games.
Anthony Yu - #9 ‘04 Forward
The California native is a puck hunter in both the offensive and defensive drill, with tons of skill. Creates space for shots with quick lateral dekes and explosive crossovers. On attack plays, Yu is a pass or shot threat, with great vision and a hard wrist shot.
Will Jones - #3 ‘04 Defenseman
Quick, agile defenseman with an ability to skate his way out of trouble, sometimes end to end. Jones is still developing his shot but has a nose for creating chances, and is ready to shoot.
Kazimier Sobieski - #5 ‘04 Defenseman
Sobieski has a calm demeanor on the ice, yet plays with aggression. The 6’0” defenseman loves to close down rushes at the blue line, looking to make contact with body or puck. Offensively, he has the ability to creatively walk the blue line and gets shots to the net.

Active skating defenseman with great instincts offensively. Beyer plays smort positionally, especially on the penalty kill. His skating ability drives his offensive game, and he
Connor Thue - #2 ‘04 Defenseman
Shifty skating defenseman with tons of skating ability. With the puck, Thue makes chasing opponents miss with quick edges and change of direction.
Calvin Vachon - #30 ‘05 Goaltender
Athletic, flexible goaltender who covers lots of space laterally with quick sliding movements. Vachon reads the play from a low, yet aggressive head position and looks to end plays quickly by sliding into chest saves and controlling rebounds.
James Duerr - #14 ‘04 Forward
Disruptive, physical player with smart sense of where to be on the ice. Using an active stick and aggressive instincts, Duerr is a great penalty killer and offensively a pain to deal with.

Edwin Liang - #7 ‘05 Defenseman
The left handed defenseman processes the game quickly. Offensively, Liang always has his head up with and without the puck, and has good control of his slap shots.
Hunter Anderson - #11 ‘05 Forward
Anderson has a nose for the net, and is quick to find pucks and get them on net. Off of low cycle plays, the California native is quick to reposition himself, either in front or as a shooting option.
Noah Powell - #14 ‘05 Forward
6 foot center who plays a 200 ft game. Offensively, Powell plays a modern power forward style, taking defenseman wide and attacking the blue line with speed. With a powerful, long stride, Powell commands the center of the ice with his speed, and splits defenses with ease on the rush.
Zeev Buium - #12 ‘05 Defenseman
Buium is a poised defenseman who is comfortable joining the play. The 5’8” defenseman showed great reading abilities , especially in the neutral zone with multiple pass interceptions.
Philippe Lalonde - #10 ‘05 Forward
Lalonde plays a sound positional game. Is very active in the play and has a physical side to his game.
Florian Wade - #1 ‘05 Goaltender
Right handed goaltender with good technique throughout his game. The 6’2” goaltender moves with quick, calm T pushes and plays large in tight to the net. Wade showed great reading ability, and made some key desperation saves against Colorado on 11/7.

Cole Eiserman - #19 ‘06 Forward
Dynamic skater who operates at pace throughout the game. On the rush, Eiserman has a powerful shot with a textbook release. In the offensive zone, he loves to find some pockets on the left side for quick one timers, but can get into corners and facilitate the offense with his vision. Eiserman is a dynamic skater with and without the puck, and dominates the play with every shift.
William Skahan - #7 ‘06 Defenseman
The 6’2” defenseman is an effective defender with agile skating for his large frame. Offensively Skahan moves very well, activating from the point and moving pucks on the powerplay. Defensively Skahan is not overly physical, and relies on sound positioning, gap and stick skills to disrupt plays.
Aidan Park - #18 ‘06 Forward
Power forward style of play with great puck protection and ability to get into a shooting situation quickly. Park does a great job gaining speed throught the neutral zone, and maintain his speed as he wheels through the offensive zone.
Macklin Celebrini - #17 ‘06 Forward
The Vancouver native dominates the center of the ice, and is quick to take on defenders with the puck on his stick. Using a strong, wide base, Celebrini uses his edges down low to create separation and options.
Brodie Ziemer - #20 ‘06 Forward
Smart scoring forward with great awareness of where to be on the ice to be a threat. Ziemer is quick to get pucks to the net, and is elusive with his shot. He can score on the rush, with a hard pull and shoot wrist shot, or one time loose pucks in scrums before defenders even have a chance. He is a multi threat option with 23 goals and 26 assists in 24 games.
Kristian Epperson - #10 ‘06 Forward
Strong forward who wins battles all over the ice. In cycles and board play offensively, Epperson is quick to retrieve pucks, and bounce off into space as a shot option. His stride is a powerful, fluid stride and utilizes simple lateral puck movements to drive wide on defenders. Epprerson showed sound balance and core strength, and will be looking to add power to his stride this season.
John Whipple - #4 ‘06 Defenseman
Agile skater with and without the puck. Defensively, Whipple is engaging, and uses both body stick to disrupt plays. In the offensive zone, he is looking to be an option from the point, ready to distribute or shoot.
