Quick thoughts and scouting notes from the USPHL NCDC.
League of the Islanders
PAL Junior Islanders and Islanders Hockey Club have begun the season on absolute fire, with PAL beginning to extend their lead in the Atlantic while Islanders Hockey Club have yet to lose in regulation, leading the New England division with South Shore hot on their heels. The Kings will head to skate3 Thursday to for a 1 vs 2 matchup next week.
Bergeman, Utkin Filling The Net
Cam Bergman (Rockets Hockey Club) and David Utkin (Utah Outliers) were the only 2 players averaging a goal per game or better entering the weekend. The jump from the Premier to NCDC has been quick for the Russian native, as Utkin looks to be a great mix of size and skill, recently scoring 5G 2A in his last 2 games. Bergeman now has 11 goals in 12 games, he finished 2022-2023 with 25G 35A in 55 games.

In its first full season, the Mountain Division has expanded the NCDC quickly, with the Ogden Mustangs, Utah Outliers and Provo Predators standing out as teams to watch in the first half of the season. ‘05 Payton Struck leads the 6-1-2 Ogden Mustangs with 7G 5A in 9 games, while former Northstar Christian Academy captain ‘04 Nate Farrell of the Pueblo Bulls is another prospect to watch, currently 2nd amongst defenseman in points with 7G 6A in 10 games.
