The 73rd annual Lawrenceville Invitational Tournament did not disappoint highlighting some of the top prep teams in the country. The oldest prep school hockey tournament in North America included Lawrenceville School, Belmont Hill, Choate Rosemary Hall, Nichols School, Northfield Mount Hermon, Stanstead College, Taft School, and Elite Hockey Academy replacing Upper Canada College.
Belmont Hill would take home the championship with a 4-0 win over the Nichols Schools. Check out our notes directly from our scouts notebooks on some of the top prospects for junior coaches and scouts.
James Fisher – ‘04 Forward – Belmont Hill
Fisher was all over the score sheet over the course of the weekend, with 3 goals vs NMH and a goal in the championship. Adjusted feet / got body around pucks very quickly. Was patient / drifty at times but had some shifts of dominance. Puck on string type hands, breakaway goal impressive getting to top flight through NZ and beating both d men wide for semi breakaway, outwaits goalie. Another goal absolute snipe with ability to get shot off in tight spaces. Uses body shifts to get defenders moving, highly offensive player who gets feet into house and wants to get shots off quickly off cycles.
