The 87s dominated this game from start to finish. Goaltender Matt Sayles ‘00 stopped all 13 saves that he faced to earn the shutout. Despite outshooting the Roughriders by a 10 to 3 margin, the game was scoreless after the first period.

He is defensively responsible consistently staying up high in the offensive zone to eliminate odd-man rushes. He is constantly buzzing when on the ice consistently moving his feet with or without the puck. He is tough on the walls and in the corners

Large, mobile goaltender who is solid on his angles. Smooth efficient movements from post to post. He does a good job limiting shooting space down low. He smothers rebounds to limit second chances. He fights through screens to track the puck.

Good skater with wide base. Hard on pucks. Strong, effective passer. Heavy shot with decent accuracy. Transitions the puck up ice effectively into the offensive zone.
