Top storylines and producers for the 2025 NHL Draft class.
Ivan Ryabkin ‘07 Forward
Muskegon Lumberjacks USHL
Some of the biggest news in junior hockey this week was Muskegon’s acquisition of Ivan Ryabkin. A projected top 10 pick in the upcoming NHL draft, Ryabkin appeared in 2 games in the KHL this season for Dynamo Moskva, but mostly played with the MHL team to start this season, recording 8 assists in 9 games. A 5’11” center who may be a pro prospect at wing, all scout’s will be keeping an eye on his transition and impact in North America.
Cullen Potter ‘07 Forward
Arizona State NCAA
Potter got his first NCAA goal opening night at Air Force, most recently scoring a nasty shootout goal in the shootout win over Michigan last week. The Dallas Stars Elite and USNTDP product made the jump to NCAA early, and will be an offensive threat to watch all season. With quick feet and even faster hands, Potter can scamper and create in tight areas. Currently projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick, his production will be watched closely by scouts, as he is slightly undersized at 5’9” but has all the skill to be an effective pro.
Porter Martone ‘06 Forward
Brampton Steelheads OHL
The Steelheads’ captain had his goal/point streak ended at 4 games last weekend, currently sits 2nd in the OHL in points (16) and 4th in goals (7). After 33G 38A last year, Martone looks to have taken another step offensively, a well rounded offensive game with a strong build at 6’3”. Has the shot and hands to create space for himself, but his playmaking / passing really stand out. His skill and size will be a must have off the wing for NHL teams, a projected top 5 selection.
Michael Misa Forward
Saginaw Spirit OHL
A goal scoring machine early in the OHL season, Misa currently leads the OHL in goals (11) after just 7 games. The Oakville native started the season with 7 goals in his first 3 games, a natural finisher with escapability via powerful skating. Misa was granted exceptional status in 2022 to enter the OHL draft, and has continued to be a top 10 selection for the 2025 draft in most draft circles. His production has jumped every season in the OHL, over a point per game in his first 2 seasons.
Cameron Schmidt ‘07 Forward
Vancouver Giants WHL
After starting the season with 2 goals in 3 straight games, Schmidt continues to produce with points in all 9 games this season. Currently leading the WHL in goals with 11, Schmidt brings energy, speed, with both offensive creativity and grit. Was a standout for Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky cup, 3G 1A in 5 games. A perfect complimentary player to his line mates, as he can contribute in a multitude of ways. His offensive production will be closely monitored, just under a point per game last year in his first WHL season.
Pyotr Andreyanov ‘07 Goaltender
Krasnaya Armiya Moskva MHL
A perfect start for Andreyanov, currently 5-0 with a 1.65 GAA and .954 save % in the MHL this season, the 2nd highest pro league in Russia. Extremely athletic and flexible, the 6’0” Russian net minder has the raw skill, with composure and technique the main areas to watch for as he develops this season. A possible top goaltending prospect outside of North America.
