With the NCAA ruling to allow CHL players as early as next season, we dove into the commitment numbers provided by RinkNet, from 8/1/24.

Over 18% of commitments in just over 3 months
Most Commitments - Bowling Green (8), Clarkson (7)
CCHA (24), Hockey East (19) and ECAC (19) lead all conferences in CHL commits
17 of 24 CCHA commitments from the WHL
The OHL and QMJHL made up over 80% of ECAC’s CHL commitments, over 70% of Hockey East’s CHL commitments.
32 CHL teams have 2+ commitments, 25 NCAA schools with 2+ CHL commitments

Hockey East, Big 10, NCHC all with 25+ commitments
USHL has the most commitments for each team in the Big 10, led by Michigan State (6), Penn State (5), and Wisconsin (5)
Miami of Ohio (10), University of St Thomas (8) lead all schools in USHL commits

Northeastern (7) and BC (5) lead Hockey East schools.

Over 60% of commitments to Atlantic (32) and Independents (20). 5 Atlantic and 4 Independent schools in the top 10 of NAHL commits.
40% of the league has 3+ commitments this year
Of the top 10 teams by commitments, 6 from the Eastern Division, including #1 through #4.
9 of 12 ECAC schools have 1 commitment. Maine (3) and Providence (2) lead Hockey East schools. Lake Superior (4) and Augustana (3) for the CCHA
18% going to US Military Academies, Air Force with 10 and Army with 6. New program Tennessee State had the 2nd most NAHL commits with 7

The BCHL is the main driver of commitments out of Canadian Jr A, but has been losing players many players to CHL since the NCAA’s removal of the ban.
Over 20 D1 schools with 3+ commits out of the BCHL , Tennessee State and Maine led all schools with 7 each.
