Scouting notes on some of the top prospects from the CCHL 2022-2023 season.
Rorke Applebee - '03 Goaltender - Ottawa Jr Senators
Rorke finished an incredible regular season with continued stellar play in the playoffs, being the Ottawa Jr Senators win their 4th straight Bogart Cup. The former Portsmouth Abbey School goaltender and Quebec native was pivotal in game 3 with the Jr Senators down 2-0 to Smith Falls, stopping 38 of 39 shots in a 7-1 win to avoid the 3-0 hole. Not the biggest goaltender, Applebee is extremely mobile yet controlled, with a high focus level on each situation. Athletic yet refined in movements, Applebee is a calm presence in the crease, always engaged in the battle, with both coverage and reaction ability on saves. The Bogart Cup Playoffs MVP posted the lowest GAA in the playoffs (1.93) and regular season (2.07), and will be a key factor in Ottawa’s run in the Centennial Cup.
