2 BCHL Forwards Selected for Team Canada
Bradley Nadeau (Penticton Vees) and Matthew Wood (Victoria Grizzlies) were selected to represent Team Canada in the U17 Capital City Challenge November 26th - December 1st in Ottawa, Ont. Wood was a 2020 2nd round pick of the Regina Pats in the WHL Bantam draft, but elected to go the college route, and is a commit of UCONN. Nadeau, one of 8 University of Maine commits playing in the BCHL this season, is second in rookie goals behind only Wood with 9 goals in 10 games. Both Wood (9GP 11G 6A) and Nadeau (10GP 9G 5A) are top ten in the league for scoring.
Hutchinson Stops 51 To Earn First BCHL Win
Michael Hutchinson, who just turned 15 October 7th, got his first BCHL win against Vernon on 10/31. The 4-2 win was an impressive second stint for Hutchinson, who saw action in one preseason game. Hutchinson will be allowed to play 5 regular season games for the Capitals as an affiliate player, while playing the rest of his games for U18 AAANorth Island Silver Tips.

The Silverbacks remain the last unbeaten team (in regulation) in the BCHL, holding a slim 2 point lead of Langley. Salmon Arm are currently tied with the most goals in the league with Prince George with 50, and are ranked #2 in goals against, while touting a top 5 powerplay and penalty kill. The Silverbacks are led by the 1-2 punch of Simon Tassy and Noah Serdachny, along with a supporting cast of secondary scoring with Lucas Matta and Mathieu Cobetto-Roy, each with over a point per game.

Chilliwack Struggles
Despite a top 3 powerplay and penalty kill, along with 11 committed players (4th most in the BCHL), the Chilliwack Chiefs haven’t strung together back to back wins since early in October, going 2-4 in their last 6 games. They currently sit 5th in the Coastal conference, and 12th in the league.
Hedquist Shutout Streak
The Alberni Valley Bulldogs net minder Hobie Hedquist entered Wednesdays tilt vs Penticton protection a 3 game shutout streak, facing over 30 shots twice in the span. The shutout streak was snapped unfortunately a minute into the second period on a Josh Nadeau short side, powerplay goal. The game would end in a 2-1 defeat for the Bulldogs, after Nadeau again won the game late in OT on the powerplay.
