As the Atlantic Hockey season gets underway, we took a deep dive into both the incoming freshman classes and senior classes for each program to see where these players are being developed.
It is our belief that everyone puts an emphasis on where players received the commitment, instead of who develops players to have long outstanding college careers.
Few notes before diving in:
The programs listed are not necessarily where the player received their commitment but rather the last development stop before college.
We found the teams in the Atlantic Hockey Conference are more likely to take transfer players than other conferences.
The Atlantic Hockey Conference typically looks towards the 20 year old junior player which significantly helps the NAHL in the totals as they do not have a 20 year age restriction.

Notes :
Outside of the BCHL, the numbers show that the Atlantic Hockey Conference does not draw from Canadian Junior Hockey.
Biggest Disappointment the NCDC, being a primarily eastern based College Hockey Conference the NCDC should see higher commitments.
The league prefers the heavier style of play that the NAHL and USHL provides vs the other wide open Junior Hockey Conferences.
The Senior Classes
This information is important to track as it allows people to see who is developing four-year college hockey players. Please note that in Atlantic Hockey, this conference tends to have some of their seniors and grad students transfer to bigger name hockey programs later in their careers.

The Conference has done very well in the USHL doubling their amount of commitments from 2016 to 2020.
