Defending National Champions Adrian College are once again top of the rankings, after receiving 25 out of the 30 first-place votes. The Central States Collegiate Hockey League led all leagues with percentage of teams ranked, with 4 of 5 teams being selected, with the Western Collegiate Hockey League producing the most with 6 of their 10 teams making the list.

Vitalii Mikhailov îs tearing up the Division I level, and his stat line is ridiculous. 4 hat tricks in just 7 games played, 15 goals 2 assists. After back to back hat tricks vs Colorado, it only took Mikhailov 1 period to get his next, this time in a commanding 6-2 win vs Arizona State. UCO would take game 2 Saturday 3-1, and takes on #8 UNLV before another big weekend against currently undefeated #16 Missouri State. Central Oklahoma are currently ranked #10 in the latest rankings.

Tons of story lines out of New Jersey and the surrounding area, with the big news coming with TCNJ, a division II program, defeating Temple 4-0 Friday 10/8. Temple would bounce back the following day against West Chester, shutting out the Golden Rams 4-0 behind a 38 save performance from Joey Galitski. William Paterson remained perfect on the season, with 2 tight wins vs Rutgers and Villanova.

Division I
John Carrol has bounced back after a tough weekend against Ohio University with a sweep of Toledo, bringing their record to 4-2 before facing Duquesne, West Virginia and Pitt later in the month. The 5-4 Friday come from behind victory was powered by 2 Owen Mckendry 3rd period goals, as team leading scorer James Grable would pot the game winner with 3 minutes to go, one of his 3 goals on the weekend. John Carrol would take Saturday 5-2, despite being outshot 42-35. Martin Moine finished the game with 40 saves on 42 shots for his second win on the season.

The weekend tournament got off to a rough start after Virginia was pulled out for an unknown reason, leaving just Louisville, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Davenport and Indiana. Kentucky finished the weekend with 2 wins over Davenport and Virginia Tech, while Louisville went 1-1 defeating Virginia Tech before falling to Davenport on Sunday on a late third period goal.

Division II
Rider University continued its recent form, downing RPI 5-4 before defeating Rowan in a thrilling 2-1 OT win on a Chris Walako goal, his fifth of the season. The Broncs head north to face Marist for a weekend series. TCNJ defeated division I rival Temple, followed by a defeat at Millersville, who dominated in their first weekend of the season.
