4 ACHA Division I programs are set to face off against NCAA opponents next week beginning 10.19 when University of Ohio takes on DIII Buffalo State.

Adrian, Liberty Heat Up Before Big Weekend Matchup
Adrian and Liberty will be one of the matchups to watch this weekend in Michigan, with both teams having commanding sweeps last weekend. After dropping 4 straight to arguably the top team in the country Minot State, Liberty returned home with 2 wins over University of Delaware, 9-0 and 5-1.
Niagara Outscores Drexel 15-2
Niagara improved to 4-0 with 2 wins over Drexel, 6-1 Friday and 9-1 Saturday. Friday’s 6-1 win was the closest game thus far, with a goal differential of 33-4 through their 4 games. 1-1 Stony Brook will be a tougher, league matchup this weekend, before welcoming projected top 20 University of Ohio to Dwyer Arena 10/22.
Calvin, Ohio Split
Two teams to watch entering the heart of the ACHA season, Calvin University and University of Ohio split their weekend series last weekend. Krzysztof Petryla scored his 2nd goal of the game late in OT to improve Calvin to 4-0 on the season. Ohio would get their revenge Saturday with a 4-2 win powered by a 2-goal performance by Blake Farrell.
Cyclones Open Season With Sweep Of Ducks
Iowa State welcomed University of Oregon to Ames and took care of business, defeating the Ducks 5-2 and 4-1. Iowa State’s Stuart Pearson, a former Texas Jr Brahmas of the NA3HL, tallied 2G 2A, while Harrison Moen stopped 63 of 66 over the weekend. Oregon drops to 1-3 on the season, and will face Grand Canyon to end October before heading to New Jersey in mid-November to face TCNJ and Rutgers.
Central Oklahoma Remains Perfect
Another 2 close games but Central Oklahoma improved to 6-0 with 2 shutout victories of Maryville University, 2-0 and 4-0 behind Artem Lantukh and Doug Wakelyn. Sebastien Doucet would score in each game, finishing with 2G 1A. The Broncos will finish October facing University of Colorado and University of Mary, before meeting Maryville again 11.3 and 11.4.
Overtime Madness
2 series this past weekend had both games of the weekend need overtime. On Friday, Colorado State would defeat Missouri State 3-2 in a shootout behind Tristin Maestas’ 2 goal performance, scoring the game tying and game winner in the shootout. Derek Cagle would get Missouri State’s revenge the following night, scoring twice including the OT game winner. George Mason and RIT would also need at least overtime in both games of their series, with George Mason taking game 1 4-3 in OT before RIT took game 2 5-4 in a shootout.
ESCHL Matchups
After splitting their opening weekend with Oswego State, URI welcomed NYU for a 2 game series, the first games of the season for NYU. As they did vs Oswego State, Rhode Island would drop game 1 5-2 to NYU before responding well in game 2, grabbing the win 4-2. Rhode Island’s Jake Mackinnon and Shane Mulhern would each score twice in the 2 game set, with Chris Cataldo (NYU) and Callum Burgess (URI) both playing well in net.
