20 Standouts from the Pre-Draft Showcase, Massachusetts
The Pre-Draft showcase is one of the oldest running spring hockey tournaments in New England. Every year players from across the United States and in Canada come to Massachusetts to participate. Players from Major junior, NAHL, NCDC and youth hockey are littered across the cross. With so many venues and over 60 teams skating, it is impossible to track everyone. Our scouts took note of 16 standouts that they had to chance to catch through the weekend festivities.
Shaun McEwen - ‘04 Defensemen - GBL Bruins
22-23 : Tri-City USHL
A smart defensemen who was in control the entire game, McEwen looked like a junior veteran all weekend. Committed to U-Mass Amherst, he used his IQ and ability to see the ice well with his first pass and his skating ability to get into the rush.
Alex Helgeson - ‘05 Defensemen - North Star Elite
22-23 : NJ Colonials 18U
Helgeson was a standout on a good younger North Star Elite team. He has the length and skating ability that scouts like to see.
